Barry planning applications submitted to council this week | Barry And District News

Here are the recently submitted planning applications for the Barry area.

The applications were submitted to the Vale of Glamorgan Council between October 7 and 13.

Proposed ground floor rear extension to enlarge bedrooms

An application for a proposed ground floor rear extension to enlarge the bedrooms at 29 Purdey Close, Barry, has been submitted.

The materials used will be the same as the current property, with a conc. tiled roof, white uPVC windows, and doors, but the walls will be rendered compared to the main facing brick walls.

Non-material amendment

An application for a non-material amendment for amendments to remove No. 1 window to the rear elevation of the dormer has been submitted.

This is to lengthen one of the remaining windows by 500mm and add a bathroom window to the dormer cheek on the proposed right-side elevation.

It also aims to confirm that dormer elevations and front and side gable elevations have oak-coloured cladding boards (UPVC fire-rated composite boards).

The application is related to planning permission ref 2023/00414/FUL - to change the hip roof to a gable roof on the right-hand elevation, add a dormer to the rear elevation, and add a flat roof ground floor extension to the right-hand side of the rear elevation from the existing structure to the right boundary but not beyond the length of the existing structure at 75 Pontypridd Road, Barry.

Discharge of conditions

Two applications for the discharge of conditions relating to former railway sidings, Ffordd y Mileniwm, Barry, have been submitted.

The first is to discharge Condition 6 (Noise Attenuation External Noise (scheme)), and the second is to discharge condition 16 (CTMP).

Both relate to the overall planning application reference 2020/00775/OUT which will see a residential development on the former sidings at Ffordd y Mileniwm including associated infrastructure and open space.
