Kingspan buys IB Roof Systems in the US

Insulation and building materials manufacturer Kingspan has announced a deal to buy IB Roof Systems, a high-performance PVC membrane provider, which is headquartered in Texas.

Kingspan said that as a global leader in advanced insulation and building envelope solutions, it has a stated strategy to offer complete roofing system solutions in the US market.

IB offers PVC membrane solutions for non-residential roofs, and it works with roofing consultants and building designers to supply complete roof systems, including insulation and accessories, directly to roofing contractors.

Co Cavan-based Kingspan said today's deal is its first in the US single-ply roofing space, and will give it an established position within the PVC membrane category.

It said it also complements its $150m organic developments currently underway in Oklahoma and Maryland to manufacture TPO membrane and polyiso insulation board.

"The combination of the IB acquisition and our organic developments represent significant steps in the early execution of our US Roofing strategy," it added.

Kingspan shares moved higher in Dublin trade today.
